Financial assistance

The deadline to apply for financial assistance was April 26th, 2013.

The International Association for Time Use Research has minimal resources. Both IATUR and the local organisers will seek opportunities to assist participants with travel costs, but participants are advised to seek funding from other sources.

The local organisers will be able to offer travel support to a limited number of participants from Latin America whose papers are accepted for policy-relevant panels.

IATUR offers a limited number of Andrew Harvey Fellowships which contribute toward the cost of travel, board and accommodation. These Fellowships normally do not cover full costs. You do not need to be a current IATUR member to apply for financial assistance, however, people awarded these fellowships must pay for IATUR membership dues and the conference registration fee by the final day of the early registration period.

See application procedure below.

IATUR Executive officers and the local organisers distribute Andrew Harvey Fellowships and other available funding according to the following rules.

  • People can receive awards to present work that has been accepted through the abstract review process or to participate in invited sessions, not simply to attend;
  • Awards are available for use by full participants, not accompanying persons;
  • Awards will be given to one author of a paper or poster, not to multiple authors;
  • To receive an Andrew Harvey Fellowship, participants must register and pay for registration for the conference as well as pay the student / developing country level of IATUR dues by the early registration deadline of the conference. IATUR dues will not be refunded and conference registration only can be refunded in accordance with the procedures set out for each conference if an award recipient does not attend;
  • Fellowships are offered to people who have not received awards to attend an IATUR conference previously before;
  • Fellowships favour funding people from many backgrounds and many countries over funding multiple people from the same institution;
  • Funding decisions are at the discretion of the Secretary, Treasurer and local organisers.
