Generalized linear mixed models and extensions to quantile regression for continuous and count outcomes

The course will present generalised linear (GLMs) and generalised linear mixed models (GLMMs) and extend these to quantile regression for continuous and count outcomes.

GLMs and GLMMs focus on modelling the expected value of a conditional distribution. These families of models provide a good basis for extending these ideas to modelling the quantiles of a conditional distribution. Case studies and applications in small area estimation and the analysis of multilevel and longitudinal data will be presented.
