The 35th Conference of the International Association for Time Use Research (IATUR) was held in Rio de Janeiro, in August 7 to 9, 2013. The conference was supported by the Brazilian federal government, through the Technical Committee for the Study of Gender and Time Use.

Pre-conference workshop: August 4-6, 2013
Thirty students from 17 different countries participated in the third training workshop on time use statistics, led by IATUR experts, in August 4 to 6, 2013. The workshop theme was THE ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTIONS OF WOMEN AND MEN: A TRAINING WORKSHOP ON TIME-USE DATA ANALYSIS FOR POLICYMAKING.
The course provided hands-on training on the special properties of time-use data, management of time use data sets, techniques for the analysis and reporting of time-use information in a policy-relevant, gender-aware manner. It was conducted in Spanish and English, with simultaneous translation between these languages.
